About this site and how the data is checked
ishigaki.info is an unofficial English guide to getting around Ishigaki and the Yaeyama islands. It is not run by, or affiliated with, any ferry operator, tour company or public body.
Ferry data
Every ferry time comes from an operator's own published timetable: Anei Kanko's PDF timetable and YKF's printed timetable and website. Times are stored in one open file, ferries.json, with the operator, validity dates and source address. If an operator changes a time and this site is wrong, the operator is right.
Before every publish the build compares the data against the live YKF website and Anei's PDF, checks fares against both operators' fare pages, tests every source link and checks every page. The live sailing status on the ferry pages is read from both operators' status pages and cached for 15 minutes.

Island and activity facts
Each fact links to the page it came from, mostly Taketomi Town, Visit Okinawa, JNTO and the operators. Facts from traveller reports are marked. Photos are from Wikimedia Commons under the licence named with each one.
Links and money
This site has no ads. Some pages link to GetYourGuide and Klook with affiliate IDs, so the site may earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. Those links carry rel="sponsored" and the page footer says so. Ferry data is never influenced by this.
